Packs will contain cards from the complete set of 256 cards (Waves 1 to 4). Each card has an equal chance of coming from one of the four waves.
Perplex City, winner of the Vanguard Award for Innovation at Origins 2006, is part game, part puzzle and part global treasure hunt. Players purchase packs containing 6 random puzzle card at retail and try to solve the puzzles online. Ranging in difficulty and rarity, the hand crafted puzzles include riddles, origami challenges, mazes, pop culture trivia, logical mind benders and Egyptian hieroglyphs.
The puzzles give clues as to where on Earth the Receda Cube, a valuable treasure, is buried. As players progress, the game spills over into the real world via websites, blogs, mobile phone messaging and other forms of Earthly communication.
