A return to traditional proper role-playing!
You cannot ask for more in the box, maps, dice, a GM screnn!, plus 3 books.
As a system it looks very good. It uses a d100 skill and stat system, roll under (like RQ, CoC etc) however there the likeness ends.
Skills improve by suceeding and getting ticks. When you have as many ticks as skill it goes up. Putting up s skill will generate ticks for stats as well, and when the ticks equal the stat, the stat goes up.
Magis is fabulous, with 3 magic types, true magic, relic users and alchemists. Not everyone has access to true magic, but the others are avaialable.
Magic is unique in this game as there is no "save". So if you succed in slumber spell, the target goes to sleep. There are some very powerful and clerly deadly spells. However magic is not acceptable everywhere, and could lead to trouble..
The world is well detailed, with some good details on the various factions, the laws and cultures of the land.
All together if you ache for a game that highlights roleplaying over and above trivial and pointless game mechanics, here it is.
