Power Grid Brazil/Iberia is a double-sided board featuring two new maps - Brazil and Spain/Portugal - along with a few rules tweaks for Power Grid.
Brazil
* Garbage becomes biogas tanks and garbage plants become biogas plants
* Resources are scarce, particularly coal
* Connections are cheap along the coast and tend to become more expensive moving inland
Iberia
* Nuclear is cheap at the start of the game, but is not replenished until step two
* Three large wind power plants come onto the market in step two
* No nuclear power plants are allowed in Portugal
* Connections are generaly expensive
+ The rules additions are very minor - you don't have to relearn the game, but they do force you to try out new strategies
+ High quality components
+ Cheap
+ This expansion comes with a box to store expansion boards
Certainly not essential (Power Grid is great without it!), though both boards produce tight and interesting games.
