The game is played in alternating rounds of day-time and night-time. Players are divided into civilians, murderers and an Inspector. By night, the murderers choose their victims, and during the day the the civilians and Inspector accuse and convict their suspects.
The rules are essentially simple, but the genius lies in the psychological tactics employed by players to discover the murderers and and evade conviction.
