Monopoly marks its 70th anniversary this year and to celebrate, Hasbro is launching a limited edition new board Monopoly Here and Now! For the first time in the games' illustrious history, the UK London board has received a complete makeover - the idea is that Monopoly would look different had it been designed today.
London has changed significantly over the past 70 years and makers Hasbro feel that it's a case of out with the Old Kent Road and in with The London Eye! Gone are the well-known £500 pound notes that a player would use to purchase those most expensive dark blue squares, all values have been updated into the millions. With modern prices soaring into millions the pink banknotes of old wouldn't buy a night's stay in Canary Wharf or The City, which now occupy the places of Park Lane and Mayfair. Thankfully players can still get Free Parking - if they're lucky.
