Mega City One - a vast metropolis where each of 360 million citizens is a potential lawbreaker. Patrolling these mean streets are the judges, tough lawmen of the future, trained to keep the peace and equipped to take on the criminals of the 22nd Century. Toughest of them all is Judge Dredd, for he is the Law, and you'd better believe it creep!

Judge Dredd is a new setting for the Traveller roleplaying game, in which you take on the role of Mega City One judges, patrolling the streets astride your Lawmaster bike, ready to defend the city's civilians against an array of foes.

Lavishly detailed as a full colour hardback, Judge Dredd will take your Traveller games to somewhere they have never been before!

This game certainly looks like a labour of love. The production values in terms of layout and art are first class - with most of the art lifted from the pages of 2000AD. The setting appears far better suited to the Traveller rules than the previous d20 version of the game. This book only deals with the creation of Judge PC's - we are promised that future supplements will cover other PC types although it wouldn't take too much imagination to use character types generated from the general Traveller line of supplements.

There are some annoying little errors that should have been picked up in proofreading and playtesting. For instance we have no rule mechanic to explain how to use the heat seeking rounds from the judges lawgiver guns. We have no psionic power to cover the use of pre-cognition although its clearly stated thats a vital function of the Psi Judges. Skills at level 0 are practically non existant in the game- it's as if the writer forgot that Mongoose Traveller introduced them as a concept. There are various other little glitches that really should have been picked up too.

That said, it seems like a fun game with a ton of ready made background material from the comics. Playing a judge looks like it could be a lot of fun.
