España 1936 is a two-player boardgame about the Spanish Civil War. Each player controls an army (the Republican or the National forces), and deploy troops and resources at various locations on the map of Spain. Players also forge alliances between other governments and movements — anarchists, fascists, communists, Germans, Italians, and more, in an attempt to manipulate events and take control of Spain. Event cards put players on a “clock”, pushing the game towards 1939.
