This is a nice, simple and cheap card game which initially I thought was too simple. However, having now played a few games I realise there is a lot of game play from this pack of cards.
Aim of the game – to build lots of clocktowers with one or more stories (floors), a clock and a roof.
Each turn is straightforward. Play (or discard) a card and pick a new card. Sounds simple but there are three types of cards – roof, clock or floor – and so likewise there are three piles to choose from on your turn.
These three types of cards also have pictures of mice or cats on some of them and these lower the value of a completed clock tower.
Since there are limited numbers of roofs and clocks eventually you will run out. But you can’t hoard these types of cards as you are only allowed a hand of three cards.
Also clocktowers have to be built higher and higher as the game goes on so some forward planning is required.
The game is fast generally lasting no longer than 15-20 minutes.
I would say this is a good game to play with your kids or if you just want to play a light, easy game with your partner or someone who doesn’t play games much – it might encourage them to play more.
