Strange - although it is not a dice game, the die roll in the original SoC is what holds the game together, and now we have a dice game version of SoC! In other words, a dice game of a dice-heavy game...? Oh, never mind.
Players are trying to tick of some of the building sites, pre-defined on individual game sheet. There are roads, villages, cities, and knights. Each side of the dice depicts resources (wood, brick, ore, wheat, sheep, and gold two of which is a joker). You get three rolls each turn, you can keep any desirable dice or exchange it with already-kept dice. At the end of 3 rolls, what you have kept becomes your building material. In addition to that, knights come in different resource type, and if you produce a knight he will allow you to turn any one die into his type - once in the game.
Each item that you can build gives you different victory points. If you fail to build anything during your turn, you score -2 points for that turn. After 15 turns, whoever has the highest accumulative score wins.
It certainly adds some depth to, say, Pickomino. You have to plan your build-tree but also remain flexible. Having said that, it is easy to see that this is not a tremendously deep game. A nice short filler if you like Settlers of Catan, or dice games in general.
