Cash'n'guns is a game for 4-6 players, that takes about 45-60 minutes to play.
The box is glossy, and so are the components. You get 6 foam guns (the UK version has them in inconspicuous orange, whereas in the USA they are black).
Along with the guns there are 6 sets of character cards (one per player), 6 character stands, and a stash of bank notes, that are cardboard thick (yeah, these are not Monopoly's notes). There is also another set of cards for optional rules.

The components are all very high quality, and durable, with some nice cartoony art.

And talking about theme, theme is what this game excels at. In this game you play a member of a gang/mafia/criminal organisation that just committed some kind of 'business' and have a load of money to share among its members. Given that everyone wants to keep as much of it as possible, and that everyone has a gun to enforce his demands, the game is a combination of guts and bluff.

It’s a lot of fun, especially when played as a beer and pretzels game, as it has lots of interaction, it’s fast, easy to explain and play, and you don’t need to be a geek/gamer to enjoy.
Recommended as a filler or on those occasions when playing a game for fun and/or limited time.

If you are looking for fun, this is the game for you. Ca$h and Gun$ is all about the silliness. You have a game here with 4-6 players where each player has a foam gun, and they all point them at each other over 8 rounds.

The game is light and easy to learn. Using the first page of the rule book, you can literally learn the rules as you play the first round.

I think the game will not suit all groups. There is obviously conflict in a game where you threaten and shoot people, and if you think some people would not handle that in a spirit of fun then perhaps this game is best avoided in favour of something less confrontation based.

For the groups I play with, though, this is a reliable repeat hit. It always seems to bring out the smiles on both casual and hardcore gamers alike.

In its basic form, the game has limited depth, and the time will come when the novelty of the foam guns has worn off and people may begin to find things a bit repetitive. However, the designer has thought of this and provided several advanced versions.

The first advanced version involves ten superpowers that players can possess. They allow lots of the fun activities, such as taking two guns, or holding a grenade (no foam grenade is supplied, sadly). As well as more novelty, they also bring a bit more depth to the game, as you need to think and adapt to the different abilities and how they affect the game dynamic.

Lastly, there is the undercover cop version. This transforms the game by adding an element of bluff and misdirection. I recommend against using it early on as it will confuse the initial game experience. But it's a great way to extend the game's lifetime if a group is becoming a bit bored of it.
