The Dark Age is over. The royal heirs, whose infighting and pride caused the destruction of Blue Moon City, have fled. The corrupt advisors and courtiers who whispered into their ears have been banished. The bitter division between the peoples of Blue Moon is beginning to heal. Now is a time of harmony and hope. In the spirit of that harmony, you must work together with the people of Blue Moon to rebuild the city ... and win the favour of the elemental dragons, thereby becoming the leader of all Blue Moon City.

Complete buildings, win crystal shards and golden scales, and restore the Holy Crystal of Psi to unite all of Blue Moon behind you! Blue Moon City is a new board game from Reiner Knizia, set in the gorgeous fantasy universe of Blue Moon.

Blue Moon City is a very simple "move, play a card, draw a card" type of game. Since its main mechanic is hand management I cannot help but feel entirely at the mercy of luck here, hoping to draw cards that will help the most. The only other thing to do is recognising the best possible combos at hand and, by playing them, building the optimum on the board - which is not too much really. BMC comes really close to qualifying as multiplayer solitaire with almost no player interaction whatsoever. The fact that it scales well does not matter either because playing it alone or with four is the same amount of "fun". So despite the fantastic art and quality components BMC is just a rate 4 game. Wish I found out about this before purchasing. A big diappointment.
