Don't let the war theme fool you, this is by no means a wargame, but instead an ingenious little abstract strategy game.
Both players have an initial card which is their base, and the goal is simply to gain control of your opponent's base -- or, barring failure by both sides to do that in an adequate time frame, have the most number of cards in play.
Each player has a hand of random cards which they can play from. The cards represent various military units which possess different traits. The two traits are supply and attack -- to attack an opponent's card (remove it from the game), the card must be in your attacking card's attack range, FURTHERMORE, your card must be supplied from your base via a chain of unit cards if it is to attack. The result is a fascinating card game of intricate feinting structures, attempting to seize victory from your opponent.
Some may find the war theme offputting, and that is unfortunate. It really does little for me, as well, however, the game here is great, quick, and deep. It's an area control game rather than any sort of trick-taking game, and as such feels less like your traditional card game and more like a boardgame.
For the low price, quick play, and replay value, there's little reason not to pick this one up if you have an inkling you might like it. A trial computer version of the game is available for download from the publisher's website, just in case you wish to try before you buy [and buy you will!]

This is an ingenious card / wargame. In truth anything could be printed on the cards as this isn't really a wargame but a positional trumping game, whereby the eponymous Hill is the goal. Cards support each other and form a 'supply line'. Supported cards may attack adjacent areas (some orthogonally / some diagonally). How these cards are positioned and consequently attack is the art of the game. This game has endless replayability and new patterns can be constantly discovered. The cards themselves are made from high quality card and have very good printing. Ideal for taking on holiday to supplement a normal deck of cards.
