    poozle:

I'm in, but can someone let me know how he software works?  Its all in german and I've never used it before.  Registered but can't understand any more.

    I'm poozle on BSW btw.

EDIT: Got it out of german now at least

I've posted some details here on how to change the BSW client to English, but just noticed you have already done that! :-)

Also created a support forum for BSW here.

I'll also post some basic instructions on using the interface as it is a bit quirky to say the least!

    Re: Online Carcassonne Tournament

Well, I'd love to enter this, but I seem to have a bit of a problem with BSW. Client seems to run fine, EXCEPT that the 'chat' boxes appear to me as completely empty (and therefore useless!).

As far as I can tell, my Java Runtime Environment is up to date, but beyond that I have no expertise in the technicalities of how it all runs. If anyone can help me make it work I'd be very grateful!

Yeah, thats what I did, found it on the BSW site, still baffled by the interface though.  Will be in though, looking forward to it :)

    Re: Online Carcassonne Tournament

    Right here we go,

Submissions ended, and we have 22 players signed up.

Each round will involve a single match with the winner going through to the next round. The time limit for the first round will be 2 weeks. If you havn't played your match within that week then whoever will go through will be determined randomly unless a player bows out due unforseen reasons such as technical issues or unavailability.

If all goes to plan each round will knock out half of the players until we are down to eaither 3 or 4. Then we will have a multiplayer final to see who wins overall.

    First round matches are

    Round 1

    Count Zero vs Colin9
    Dobbie vs Neil Hewitt
    Jernau25 vs Peter12
    Johnnyb vs Paul Hobbs
    Steve_Wood vs Zhuzh
    IanButty vs Dai
    Milarky vs Tony Bellringer
    enes vs Phil O
    Alex_Laurie vs White Stone
    SteerpikeW vs Poozle
    DavAv vs Harry the Lime

This will give us 11 winners, so highest scoring loser will also go through to bring us to 12 for the next round.

Arrange game times and BSW usernames amongst yourself and post results in this forum so we can all so how you are doing.

    Good luck

    Count Zero

    Re: Carcassonne Tournament

    Hi Jernau25!

Peter12 here - what sorts of times are good for the first round as far as you are concerned? Hopefully I can get BSW to work by the time it is arranged! By the way, my BSW name is (note the stunning originality) ... Peter12!

    Re: Carcassonne Tournament

    Hi Peter12 - yep good username :-)

Good times for me are either Tuesdays or Thursdays before 8:30 am (yes that's AM), or failing that, I can probably make an evening appointment - just about any night of the week except wednesdays or thursdays (gaming group nights).

You should be OK with the BSW client - just make sure you've got the client=en option turned on and you'll be fine.

    Re: Carcassonne Tournament

    Hi Nick,

Much as I am up before 08:00, I'm not that awake - playing Carcassonne at that time would not be a game - it would be slaughter (though that said, even in an evening game, it'll probably still be slaughter ... maybe I should go for an early game and give myself an excuse!).

How about next Tuesday night? If that's OK pick a time pre-midnight GMT (and if you don't believe in my innate incompetence re: Carcassonne, pick any time after 20:00 - I'll have started hitting the wine, reducing the efficiency of my meagre logic circuits that much more!)

    Re: Carcassonne Tournament

Hey Whitestone,  what times better for you?, for me nights are better as I am at work all day.  Or a weekend might be appropriate? Let me know

    OK - first result in.

    Steerpike versus Poozle

    Steerpike wins by 133 - 55

thanks for the game Poozle, hope you get the client working in future and we see you on BSW again.
