    IanButty   v    JeffB
    --------------------

I've come to the conclusion that there can't be a drop of Scottish blood in me!    A clean sweep by Jeff gives him a 5 - 0 win over me.

All the best in the next round Jeff.  I'll go off and hide on the southern side of Haidrians wall and never again attempt to create any boundies in the land of the haggis.

    Re: Schotten Totten

Thanks Ian. Commiserations to you and I thought you deserved something out of the game as the scoreline doesn't tell the whole story. I remember (if memory serves) the last three games in particular needed almost every last card.

I, to my knowledge, don't have any Scottish ancestry but the following factors may have made the Scottish gods smile upon me:

    1. I eat porridge for breakfast
    2. I like whiskey
    3. I wore a kilt once at a wedding!

N.B. to future Schotten Totten players the above (and combinations thereof) don't guarantee success ;)

Count Zero: I'll be away on my hols for a couple of weeks now so I won't be able to kick-off my next round until I'm back...

    Cheers,

    Jeff

Darn it!  That must be where I'm going wrong... You win 3-0 on that one too!  :-(

I vote for something with an ENGLISH theme for the next contest... how about "Rosenkönig" (War of the Roses) ?

    Ian.

    Re: Schotten Totten

Well Round 1 is nearly finished, there are two matches yet to finish, JohnnyB Vs Poozle and King Club Vs Croppertarty.
Not heard from either Croppertarty or King Club so you will be dropped from Round2 unless I hear from you.

Round 1 leader board is as follows

    Harry The Lime                 5
    JeffB                                 5
    Adam8                              4
    Sara5                                4
    Earthquake                        3
    Steerpike                           3
    Grimwold                           2
    Dobbie                              1
    Colin9                                1
    CountZero                          0
    Ian Butty                            0

I am going to post the round 2 matches now so that we can carry on. After this there will be one more round and the player with the most points will win.

    Ian Butty    vs   Earthquake
    Neil Hewitt    vs   JohnnyB
    Colin9    vs   Steerpike
    Sara5    vs   Jeffb
    Harry the Lime   vs  Grimwold
    Adam8   vs   Poozle
    Count Zero  vs   Dobbie

I know a few of you have holidays coming so no rush.

I just hope I can get at least one point in this match.

    Thanks
    CZ

You and me both!  CZ it's a shame we weren't drawn against each other that way at least one of us would have broken our duck!

Good luck anyhow CZ - and the race is on between us to get off the bottom of the leader board.

EQ - I've created two invites to start with - we can add the other three later.

    Ian "nil point" Butty.

the Clash of the Pikes !

Colin, I have set up three games for us on Yucata. Can we get these underway before we start the final two otherwise my head spins with what is happening in each game ?

As per recommendations above I have gone onto a training diet of Porridge for breakfast each morning and whiskey for lunch. It's playing havoc with my GI system.

    Re: Schotten Totten

It's been a while. I was only thinking the other day that we haven't had a decent game of Amun-Re or Wallenstein for some time. As I had no idea what the format for this competition was I considered myself dead and buried, however it appears that if I sever a few heads along the way I may still be the one. So, resurrection and destiny awaits. Your invites are accepted.....but I'm away for a week from Saturday.

And may the biggest Celt win!

I was thinking the same thing.  I've created an Amun-Re game on SpielByWeb if anyone is interested "Return of Amun-Re" password iguk

Sounds like the game may be quite sporadic and drawn out as I am on holiday in two weeks time.

Let's see how far we can get this week !

I'll pass on this one as my holiday might slow things down right in the middle but I'll be up for a few more games later in September when things quieten down.

I've been thinking about friendly (non-tourney) games in general and I've created a thread where folks can post details of any games they want to invite IGUK friends to.  The thread is here:

    http://www.iguk.co.uk/cs/forums/1668/ShowThread.aspx#1668

Probably best to subscribe to it and then you'll get notifications of any new friendly games being set up.

    Ian.
