    Earthquake v Pikeman

After a marathon 2.5 hours three very tense games concluded at 2.30 am on Good Friday with Pikeman a narrow winner of all three.

Balloon Cup used to be fun. This was a very tense, or should that be intense, battle of wits and fortitude.

Hard luck, Earthquake. It really couldn't have been closer.

    Re: Clash of the Titans

Result Harry the Lime 2: 0 Steerpike

The first game (which was actually the second, it just finished first! asynchronous gaming, don't ya just love it...) saw Steerpike wave the white flag under a ferocious onslaught from HtL - Steerpike not helped by having a handful of blue with no such coloured tokens in sight! [Steerpike conceded]

The second game (which was actually the first...), was somewhat less of a one-sided affair. But despite getting somewhat better cards this time, Steerpike couldn't quite get ahead of HtL in collecting enough different colours. [Steerpike 1:3 Harry the Lime]

    Thanx for the games dude!

    peace

    Count Zero1 Neil Hewitt 2

Good games with CZ going into an early lead but Neil managed to cover all the cards for when the cubes ran out.

Thanks for the games Neil, it was good to see some new blood in the games.

Harry - you forgot to mention that Steerpike bitched and whined his way through both games.

Thanks for the game ! :-)

    Re: Balloon Cup

Game 1:  IanButty wins mainly due to having a lot of luck on the draw of the cards.  All the right cards appeared just at the right time.  Not a lot Dobbie could do against it.

Game 2: For a long time this looked as though Ian was going to walk away with this, but then all of a suden Ian's ballon burst, and some excellent tactics from Dobbie forced Ian to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory!  Well done Dobbie.  "One all" and on to a tense decider.

Game 3:  Pretty even through out the game, and could have gone either way.  In the end the 3:1 cube swap was key.  The game was finally won by a tactical decision by Ian to play to GIVE dobbie the yellow cup.  This then enabled Ian to use a 3:1 yellow cube swap to gain a third and round winning cup.

    Dobbie 1: Ian 2

Great game, nice mix of luck and tacticts.  I'm looking forward to the next round.... that is if my luck holds.

Well played Dobbie - it so easily could have gone either way.

    Ian.

    Re: Balloon Cup

We are half way throught the first round of matches, 4 have been played and we are waiting on 4 more.

How are the other games going, is anyone having trouble contacting there opponents or sorting any games out? I know Adam is but I should get this sorted.

    Thanks

Ok, I'm officially an idiot, for some reason I haven't been on yucata for a long time :S  Completely forgot about it, and just remember now (before checking here).  I've played my next turn in my game an hopefully will be able to wrap it up relatively soon.

    Re: Balloon Cup

    Thats craftsman poozle now ;)

Final score was 2 games to me, 1 to JohnnyB

I managed to win one game by getting all 3 trophies in one move, and the other by getting 4 trophies.  The final game was 2 trophies to me and 1 to JohnnyB until he managed to get two in one round.

Good games JohnnyB, hope to play you again sometime.

EDIT: Nice timing by the look of it.

    Hi bcubed,

Really sorry, that's my fault. Just a little busy at the moment, getting married on saturday and so I'm struggling for free time.

CZ - I think it's probably best if I chuck in the towel on this one as I don't want to hold the tourney up, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Good luck in the rest of the tourney bcubed.
