    Result

    pikeman 2 - 0 croppertarty

Made more interesting by holding a phone conversation all the way through. No psychological tactics were employed.

A pleasure to make your acquaintance Rob. Best of luck against Dobbie.

Hi Poozle- Thursday will probably be best for me. I've been away the last few days too so I need some time to catch up at work !

Thursday is ok for me too, see you there (and could you create the room for us if you don't mind, I'm still a bit lost with BSW).

Not a problem. I'll get there early and reserve a room.

When you're in BSW simply type "/ghook Steerpike" [case sensitive - ignore the quotes] into the command line and you'll be transported into the room.

    Pikeman v Dobbie

A tense, and very interesting game contrasting two different styles of play that went to the wire.

Game 1 - pikeman in control throughout, Dobbie pleads technical difficulties (it always happens in my tournament games!), but it wasn't enough to save him.

Game 2 - pikeman in control, or thought he was, until a quite magnificent and stunning end game saw Dobbie sweep to victory. Ruthless is not an adequate word for the way in which this was executed.

Game 3 - Nip & tuck. With a possible 5 stones to lay it could have gone either way. Dobbie suddenly went from stunning end game to stumbling end game and frankly, handed it to me on a plate.

    Result:- pikeman 2 - 1 Dobbie

Good to finally talk to one of my regular adversaries. Enjoyed the games and the chat. Look forward to our continuing battles.

    Re: Einfach Genial Tournament

Well played pikeman, I had nightmares about that 3rd game last night, what was I thinking?

Anyway good luck for the rest of the tourney, nice to speak to you and look forward to the continuing battles.

    Dobbie Vs croppertartty

    2-0

Cropper started well in both games but seemed to drop off towards the end, but from the look of the amount times cropper changed his tiles in the 2nd game he wasn't getting a lot of luck.

Well played, look forward to meeting up in future tornaments.

    Dobbie

    Re: Einfach Genial Tournament

    Poozle vs Steerpike

    2-1

Steerpike won the first game with 8! as his lowest.

Second game noone could get what they needed (5 trades in the last few rounds) and I won with 7 as my lowest.

Final game, was VERY close, we drew on yellows (1 each) and I won with 5 purples to his 4 oranges, I had 3 18s in that game and Steerpike had 2.  Because of all the yellows none of us could get a trade as we still had yellows in our hands.

Good game Steerpike and I hope to play against you soon.

    Re: Einfach Genial Tournament

    Hi Guys!

Sorry about the silence - absolutely swamped at work! Afraid I really haven't got time for gaming at the moment, as have an ongoing high level of work for the rest of this month - has taken me this long to find the time to let you all know!

Good luck to all in tourney!

    Re: Einfach Genial Tournament

    Ok,

I am calling an end to Round 1, and we have 3 people who have made it to the next round.

    These are..

    Count Zero
    Pikeman
    Poozle

As its just the three of us I think we should play one, three player game and whoever wins that game wins the tourney.

So, lets pick a day when we are all available.

    Thanks
    CZ

    Re: Einfach Genial Tournament

Why not stick to the Round Robin for the final as the rest of the tourney has been on that basis? We are 3 people who are normally readily available so that should be easy to organise between ourselves.

My contact details are already published earlier in the string for Poozles benefit, and we are in regular contact via other games anyway.
