Result in from my match VS sara5

It didn't start well (for me) - the first two games were a bit of a slaugther.

I did manage to fight my way back in with a win in the third game, but I couldn't hold onto a tight 4th game, and a consolation win in the last couldn't stop me losing overall.

    sara5 3 - 2 Earthquake

    Very well played sara5...tough opponent.

    ....pulled it off!

after an initial early win for me on one game i was sure we would end up 2-3 or 3-2, but over the closing stages i not only got the cards I needed, I got quite a few of the ones Pikeman needed too!

Final score  Pikeman 0.......   Johnnyb 5

    Re: Schotten Totten

Nothing left to say except, congratulations johnnyb! I honestly thought that my 1 - 9 record was going to improve slightly but with the ever diminishing packs the grim reality that johnnyb held all my cards was hard to bear. Even worse when you have to play a losing card knowing that it hands your opponent victory.

So, a dismal 1-14. That ain't good. Schotten Totten anyone? I need the practice.

Have we had a double winner yet?

    And more importantly....what's next?

    Round 3
    Ian Butty  vs  NeilH

I think all the Scottish jokes, puns, and descriptions have been exhaused so I'll resort to simple facts.  I'm getting better at this but not by enough.  After a 0-5 defeat in the first round, and 1-4 defeat in the second round, in the third round I managed to pull off an amazing 2-3 defeat.  If only there were two more rounds!!

    Final score: Neil H, 3 - IanButty 2
    Well done Neil.

    Regards,

    Ian.

    Round 3
    Countzero 0 Jeff 5

I think ours must be the final match report of the tournament. I won't go into detail only to say that my opening gambit of setting fire to the Count's sporen obviously hampered him in the proceeding matches.

    Thanks for the games CZ

    Re: Schotten Totten

Well played Jeff, and Congrats JohnnyB you just pipped Harry to the Win by 1 point.

We are just waiting for one last game before I post all the scores, Poozle vs GRimwold (Unless I have missed it).

So, anyone have any ideas for what to play for the next tourney? Anything that plays well for 2 players and that we can play online either turn based, or real time.

    Thanks
    CZ

    Re: Schotten Totten

I'd suggest Vikings (Wikinger) as a great 2 player game for next tournament (at Yucata site again).

Thanks for hosting this Tourney CZ, looking forward to the next one already.

Good games... thanks Poozle... after the first three you were 2-1 up and I thought it was all over for me.

    Re: Schotten Totten

Virtually any of the games on Yucata play well with 2. The only games that I wouldn't recommend are Tally Ho! and Just 4 Fun because they are almost entirely based on luck rather than strategy. Vikings sounds as good as any.

    Re: Schotten Totten

might be fun to have a multi-player game for a change, though...

    Re: Schotten Totten

Vikings is good and gets my vote.

I dont know Kahuna, but it looks pretty solid on BGG with 6.8 from 750-odd ratings.  Maybe try that one.

    Re: Schotten Totten

As I said, most games on Yucata play well with 2, except in my case. I can't win a game of Kahuna to save my life. Roundly thrashed by all and sundry. Hazienda's not much better.

If you're looking for a good multiplayer Hazienda might fit the bill.

Let's not forget SpielByWeb. We've had some good multiplayer games there, Amun Re, Wallenstein, Bus (?), now started Reef Encounter. Always worth a look.

And our old friend MaBiWeb. Since we last had a tourney there Mykerinos & Year Of The Dragon have been added, both of which I have played with the same success as Kahuna!! Don't think that we've had a Kreta tourney yet?

You know me. I'll play anything (and lose at most!).
